The ESEO Italia-APS Association

ESEO ITALIA-APS is a non-profit association registered in the Italian National Third Sector Register (RUNTS) under resolution no. 77286 of November 7, 2022. It operates exclusively for purposes of information, awareness-raising, social and socio-health support, research, and scientific promotion, particularly in relation to eosinophilic esophagitis and the conditions that are frequently associated with it.

It is made up of families with a member affected by this condition, with the aim of supporting children and adults living with these diseases, as well as their families, in preventing or overcoming the medical, social, and broader challenges associated with them. The association also works to raise public awareness and contribute to research, including through fundraising activities.

The association is supported by a Technical-Scientific Committee composed of experts in the disease who work in leading hospitals across Italy.

Main objectives:

  • to increase awareness and knowledge of eosinophilic esophagitis;
  • to promote opportunities for meetings among people with eosinophilic esophagitis and their families, in order to share experiences and information related to the condition;
  • to raise public awareness, through all media channels and institutions, so that the issues and common needs of people affected by these conditions and their families are better recognized;
  • to organize an information service aimed at guiding patients and their families toward specialized referral centers and informing them about their healthcare rights in this specific field;
  • to encourage exchange and collaboration among physicians and/or specialized centers dealing with eosinophilic esophagitis, in order to broaden the dissemination of medical knowledge;
  • to create an online network to connect healthcare professionals, patients, and their families, facilitating communication and the exchange of scientific information;
  • to promote medical and scientific research on rare diseases, also through the activities of the Scientific Committee.
